Lagos state polytechnic held her 23rd convocation ceremony for the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma and presentation of prizes for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic on 9th April 2015 at the new school of agricultural auditorium. The event mainly started with the proccesion of the Rector and his academic staffs, in which the national and school anthem _Led by Mrs Bunmi Adedoyin was sung.
The rector in name Abdullazeez Lawal gave his speech, representative of the governor of Lagos state, Otunba Fatai Olugoka, special adviser to his excellency on education also gave his speech. Other events includes music by the police band, goodwill messages and awards/ presentation of prizes.
The polytechnic had graduating students of 7045 students for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic session. The school of management and business studies (SMBS) produced the best overall students in both ND and HND, Ismaila Olatunji Akanbi (ND) with total CGPA as 4.00, Esther Ayoola Odunayo and Prisca Nneka Mbagwu with 3.90 (HND respectively).
The event gradually came to a close as the registrar, Mrs Aderonke Olufunke Ige gave the vote of thanks after which the national anthem was sung. The exit of proccesion was made in reverse order which brought the event to a close and other celebrations continues thereafter.
